The Ghana Premier League could not be played, thus Ashantigold SC requested an injunction, but the Accra High Court rejected the request.
The Miners’ protest is in response to the GFA Disciplinary Committee’s decision to demote the team to Division 2 at the conclusion of the 2020–21 season after they were found guilty of match-fixing.
The GFA then suspended the club for continuing to work with its detained officials.
Following Ashantigold’s legal action, the GFA suspended the league on September 29, 2022.
After only three game weeks, the court has already decided that the Ghana Premier League can resume.
