National Cathedral Not A Priority For Ghana Now! – Apostle Ameyaw

Contrary to the assertions by Pastors withdrawing from the national cathedral committee and recent Christian council petition to the president to be transparent on the national cathedral, Apostle Ameyaw Mark, the Chairman for Ambassadors for Christ Council in Techiman in the Bono East Region says the current economic hardship in the country should be the priority of the government, instead of releasing money for a National Cathedral.

Apostle Ameyaw said God would not need a cathedral when almost every sector of the Ghanaian economy is faced with challenges.

The government, through the Finance Minister, approved the release of GH₵25 million to the National Cathedral Secretariat as additional seed money for the construction of the edifice.

Speaking on Tain FM Anopa Nkommo with Appiah Kubi, the Apostle said the national cathedral is not needed now for Ghanaians, therefore urging the government to make a stop to the construction and use the money to reduce the challenges in the various sectors in the country.

He said, it was Nana Addo’s promise and not the nation, therefore, the tax payer’s money cannot be used for the project.

“It was Nana Addo’s personal promise and not the nation, so he should use his personal money for the construction and not the state money, even churches in Ghana will not benefit from the project. I will emphatically state that Ghana does not need the national cathedral”, the Apostle bemoaned.

He added that cathedral could invite filths to the nation through the activities that would be conducted.
