The head coach of the Ghana national team, Otto Addo has disclosed that he was very satisfied with the performance of his players in the friendly match against Switzerland.
The Black Stars on Thursday morning locked horns with their Swiss counterpart in a friendly match staged in Abu Dhabi.
Courtesy of goals from defender Mohammed Salisu and attacker Antoine Semenyo, Ghana cruised to a deserved 2-0 win.
Assessing the performance of his team after the game, Ghana coach Otto Addo said he is happy.
He has, however, rallied his players to turn their attention to the first match against Portugal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
“Yes, especially the way we played, and we had also some new players coming in and they connected well with the old players and I think we allowed some chances but they were less and we created a lot and so I am very, very happy for this game despite the result because now if we win or lose, we don’t get any points at the World Cup so we have to focus on Portugal but this is a good start,” Coach Otto Addo said.
The Black Stars gaffer added, “I think it’s a about concentration, it’s about the delivery and the players had good possession, we had some chances and we scored one goal and moved on to score the second goal.”
Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be one of five African countries representing the continent.
The Black Stars will compete in Group H of the group stages of the tournament. In that group, Ghana will battle it out with two-time champions Uruguay, as well as European giants Portugal.
The other group opponent is South Korea from Asia.
While the 2022 FIFA World Cup will commence on Sunday, November 20, Ghana’s Black Stars will play their first match on November 24.
Subsequently, Ghana will take on South Korea on November 28 before finishing the group stages campaign with a rematch against Uruguay.
