Member of the Arise Ghana advocacy group who receive a few rubber bullets in the eye during the Arise Ghana demonstration a couple of weeks ago.
Briefing the media, the leader of the Arise Ghana group Bernard Mornarh announced to the general public that on the 28th of June 2022 one of their members during the peaceful protest got shot severally in the eye after a rampant plastic bullet spraying spree by the Ghana police service in an attempt to control the crowd from moving towards the jubilee house.
The victim whose name was given as Nii Ayi Mensah who was rushed to the Korle Bu Teaching hospital was confirmed blind permanently in the right eye by the eye specialist.
Bernard Mornarh Lamented and blamed the incident on the unprofessional behavior by the national security , whose careless approach at crowd control injured over 93 armless and innocent peaceful protesters.
He also reinstated that, the police were rather those to start the violence by throwing stones, rubber bullets and tear gas at unsuspecting protesters and he sees these heinous acts as party folks being instructed by the president.
In view of this the Arise Ghana advocacy group insist that they will continue to mount pressure on the Current Nana Addo led New Patriotic party to ensure the bad current bad economy is restored to a bearable state for the average Ghanaian citizen.
