Another Update From The National Democratic Congress-NDC

The latest information coming from the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), reveals that, the party has release an update, concerning it upcoming internal elections.

A report by myjoyonline.com stated that, the NDC is currently reviewing the roadmap for its upcoming internal elections, following the recent extension of the deadline for the registration of new members into the Party.

According to the report by www.myjoyonline.com, “The registration exercise, which commenced on May 21, 2022, was scheduled to end on June 7, 2022. Peter Boamah Otokunor, Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, told the Ghana News Agency, that the exercise was extended for about two more weeks, and thus, disrupted the initial schedule for the Party’s internal elections”.

Myjoyonline reported further that, “The exercise ended over the weekend so we are reviewing the initial schedule. Mr Otokunor explained further, that arrangements were underway to review the existing roadmap, and assured members of the Party that the new guidelines would be announced soon. The NDC’s new membership registration exercise was confronted with some challenges in some constituencies, with some Party members alleging, that they had been denied access to the Party’s identification cards in spite of complying with the requirements”.

According to Peter Boamah Otokunor, “The (NDC) Party’s efforts to resolve the challenges in some constituencies, including Agona East and Techiman South, had proven intractable, hence the move. The Techiman South Task-force was led by Professor Joshua Alabi, a leading member of the Party, while that of the Agona East was led by Mr Ako Gunn, a Deputy National Communications Officer of the Party”.
