The founder and Chief Executive Officer of Loud Silence Television, Kevin Ekow Taylor has descended on His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and the Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, for taking Ghana to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Speaking on “With All Due Respect” Friday night edition of the programme on Loud Silence TV, Kevin Taylor referred back to some unpopular statements made by the then opposition NPP party against the erstwhile John Mahama-led NDC government for going to the IMF after labelling him as an incompetent leader who mismanaged the country’s economy.
According to Kevin Taylor, Akufo-Addo, Bawumia and Ken Ofori-Atta are far more incompetent relative to John Mahama, late Paa kwesi Amissah Arthur and Seth Tekpe. He said that the ineptitude of the former is what is taking the country to the IMF this time round and that they should stop blaming a pandemic or a conflict between some other countries as the underlying cause of their decision.
“I listen to Akufo-Addo and Bawumia and I ask myself why this people who claim to be well-versed in economics and know all the ins and outs of economic management are now seeking a bailout from the International Monetary Fund. I later found out that the answer was rather a simple one. It all bores down to their high-rated incompetence. They are simply unfit to manage the economy of Ghana because they are where they are based on blantant lies and cheap propaganda” Kevin Taylor said.
On Friday, July 1, 2022 President Nana Akufo-Addo after talks with the Managing Director of the IMF Miss Kristalina Georgieva conveying the decision to seek assistance from the international organization, directed his Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to commence formal arrangements with the IMF to support the Ghana government’s economic recovery programme.
